We flew from Brisbane to Los Angeles then from LA to New York on the same Qantas Dreamliner plane. It was a bit chaotic at LA going through immigration and customs, then back through security.
The San Gabriel Mountains to the west of LA could be seen beyond the low lying cloud and fog blanketing the coast in the early morning.
It was a very long 12 August for us as we left our Brisbane hotel at 7am and arrived at our New York hotel about 7pm on the same date having crossed the international date line.
