Day 8 - Architecture of Washington DC

Breakfast at nearby Founding Farmers was disappointing for us, but the locals seem to love it, queuing for an hour or more. We walked on to the White House where a new security fence is being constructed.

There are some amazing buildings near the White House.

The Eisenhower Executive Office Building is next to the west wing of the White House. It was completed in 1888.

A street sign included this photo of the columns being erected in 1861.

My pick of the buildings we saw today is this portico of Union Station.

The temperature reached 36° so we spent a couple of hours seeing the sights from the comfort of the free air conditioned DC Connector electric buses.
